As THE voice for reconstructive and cosmetic surgery in the state, New York State Society of Plastic Surgeons Inc PAC (NYSSPS PAC) fights for plastic surgeons and their patients.  Advocacy is a top priority for the New York State Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the NYSSPS PAC  plays an integral role in our advocacy efforts, as it allows us to support, educate and influence state candidates who support NYSSPS' public policy goals. To succeed in this arena, NYSSPS PAC relies on your support.

Key Issues

  • Promoting insurance coverage for congenital anomalies and reconstructive surgical procedures and therapies

  • Protecting patient safety through policies that prevent non-physicians from performing complex surgical procedures

  • Ensuring unqualified practitioners cannot advertise in a false or misleading way

  • Raising patient awareness of health insurance coverages for breast reconstruction and prostheses post mastectomy

Benefits

All contributors to the PAC will have access to:

  • Opportunity to present a NY Plastic Surgery PAC check to your member of the New York State legislature, coordinated by NYSSPS in your home or work district.
  • Quarterly NY Plastic Surgery PAC newsletter, with political updates and details on the PAC's activities on the Hill.
  • Recommend political disbursements to the PAC board. Only PAC contributors can make recommendations to the Board.
  • Recognition within NYSSPS publications and at the Annual Meeting and Annual Advocacy Day.
  • Invitation to a reception with a member of the State Legislature during the Annual Advocacy Day
